The Big Five

While waiting for tomorrow's ESC semi-final 2 here are the songs of the five countries known as "the big five" (newcomer Italy in 2011) that always get into the final. Is that fair really? It all started in 1996 when Germany failed to qualify for the ESC and decided that all the countries that contribute with most money to the European Radio-and TV union will automatically be in the finals (2000 and forward). Only Germany has won the Eurovision, in 2010.  And of course the host country Sweden's great song I'm very fond of.  Did you know that only after a week from winning the Swedish Melodifestivalen and becoming the representing song for Sweden at the ESC 2013 the song sold platinum? Good luck tomorrow Krista!
