Running in the ruins of Pompeii

We arrived in Naples late on Saturday night. Kristin and I stayed at a hotel close to the Molo Beverello harbor, we just took it easy and she went out to get us pizza and wine and we talked all night.

The following day we took the train to Pompeii to see the ruins of the ancient city that was destroyed and covered in ashes when Mount Vesuvius erupted 79AD. I studied Latin for six years in school so for me it was a very big thing, our teacher was always so passionately telling us about it. I've already seen Rome and it's treasures so after seeing Pompeii my Roman history knowledge is satisfied.

It was a very nice day and before we entered the ruins we sat down at this nice and cool lemon garden for some really fresh sandwiches, true and pure Italian ingredients. It was amazing to walk in the ruins and see how modest people have actually once lived. It made me think if we really need all the stuff we have, times really have changed since then.

Man of Style = Russell Westbrook

SLAP MY FACE!!!
I am so in love with Russell Westbrook's style.
I mean, there is NOT another NBA player that can touch him as far as fashion is concerned.
I will google image search this guy ALL THE DAMN DAY.
*witness*
 He knows color.
Amazing styling.
I love his glasses frames collection.

 He's only 6'3''
So I am taller than him in heels.
And I may be able to borrow his clothing.

Whatever the hell this print is, sign me up.

 Camo skinnies into Jordans?
That is freaking Einstein-caliber brilliant.

 I just want to know.
Where the HELL in Oklahoma City does he shop?

 Does he have a stylist?

Or is he the most amazing 24 year old sartorial genius of our time?

Please let him design the new NBA uniforms.

Sockless loafers with slightly short pants?????
ahhhhhhh molto italiano. ammmmmmore'

THIS SILK BOMBER??? A Quadrillion times YES!

Final days with the family in Nice

The last two days my family was in Nice were rather chilled. We spent time at the beach and went shopping, my mum finished writing her post cards and we tried to pack as much of my stuff away with them as possible. It was only my mum and my siblings who helped me with some stuff, mostly clothes and some shoes. On Saturday before leaving we even went to buy a new suitcase. Well that one will be for my dad then if he ever travels! ;)

Sisters

Seven cousins...remember who belongs in which family? ;)

Gisele's Rockin Body 2 months after giving birth

This Lady gave birth to a beautiful daughter 2 months ago.
Can you believe it?
Well yes, you should believe it because I want to put this in perspective for you.
Gisele is a *VERY* small framed 5'11'' woman that has been a professional model for all of her adult life.
She knows how to move her body in preparation for a monocular camera vision. And in doing that, she knows how to position her limbs so that some are accentuated and some recede.
She is being photographed by Mario Testino, who is a legendary fashion photographer and knows the angles to shoot at to make her look her best.
Hair and makeup teams have worked on her, stylist have selected garments to show off her shape best, and MOST IMPORTANTLY she has been lit for body perfection.
Let's not even go into a photoshopping discussion.

I love Gisele, she's a TOTAL PRO, but I don't want anyone to feel bad about themselves when they see these photos. Love yourself and remember this is her occupation.

THAT IS ALL.

Birchbox & Ispy

BIRCH BOX --

The deva curling system worked as much as I thought it would, the shampoo and conditioner didn't have a great smell but the gel smelt really good!

The ISAAC MIZRAHI perfume was great! I love it so much I have to get a full size

I didn't really care for the CC cream... I just don't get it. Is it suppose to correct within one time or after time .. lol

Haven't used the vitamin capsules. I just haven't figured out where I really want to put oil...It says to put the vitamin oil on your face, before your make-up????!! uhhhh I'll pass on that one!! LOL

I used the chap stick daily, especially when I can't find my carmex or when I'm at work.. I actually can't believe it works. I usually can't use any other chap stick or lip stick other then carmex!

I don't really like tea (unless it's McDonald's sweat tea), but I gave it a try - & I still don't like tea LOL

IPSY --

CONCEALER TO STICK WITH MY EYE SHADOWS FROM MY LAST BOX- It didn't really match my skin tone but it did conceal a pimple spot I had. & I had to put other make-up on top or it would have looked crazy.

The instant bronzer was no good!  =( I also tried it on my legs, they came out the same way... maybe I'm doing something wrong? I've seen girls on facebook actually searching for it?!

The Mirabella lipstick was sheer and so suttle I actually loved it!

I gave the roll- on perfume to a friend from work because I was just not in love with the smell. -__- I've heard of Gardenia before but never knew exactly what it was. It stinks to me lol

And last but certainly not least!! I loved the nail polish, Zoya is one of my favorite brands. I love the way it goes on and comes off!

Well it's Friday and I'm at work, trying to deal with these guests. I had plans to go out this weekend.. but I am broke (thanks to my car payment and Julep lol) Maybe I'll still go somewhere just to dress up and say I did =) I also had planned to go to Zumba-fest tomorrow but I don't know how that is going to play out either. Which reminds me of the shoes I got this weekend that I have to show you all!

Thank you to my mommy!!!! I'm so in love with them, they are the most comfortable "tennis shoes" I've worn in a long time, I'm sorry, I mean EVER!!! They aren't cheap but I will definitely invest in a few more pairs of these!

My Skin Care Regimen

Many people have problems with their skin. Skin problems can range from acne, blemishes etc. Over the years people have asked me how do I keep my complexion clear. Today I’m going to give you my skin care regimen and my approach to keeping my skin healthy.

Drink Lots of Water

Yes its true water is an essential part of my diet. I can go through 7-8 bottles of water a day. Water is a great way to cleanse our bodies and removes toxins. It’s recommended that we should drink half our body weight.

Use Natural Cleansers

I’ve always taken a natural approach to my regimen. My great grandmother swore by oatmeal. Yes oatmeal. Once a week I take about half a cup of oatmeal and make it a mask then I put it on my face for about 5-10 while in the shower then I rinse, you can do this daily if you wish. My mother uses witch hazel to tone our skin. Oats and which hazel should be in your cabinets.

Diet

I eat a lot of veggies. I love kale and collard greens in particular. I also eat plenty of spinach. Fruits like pineapple can help clear blemishes if applied to the skin and apples are great whiten the teeth naturally and help to flesh out our kidneys.

Clean Make Up Brushes

This is so true. Please clean your make up brushes regularly as they can and do cause break outs. I personally had a very nasty break out on the right side of my face as a result of not cleaning my brushes. Never again.

Sleep

I take sleep seriously. If my favorite show comes on around 10pm, guess what? I'll record it and watch the next day. I believe that a good night sleep  helps us all look more rested and can alive stress.

So this is my skin care routine. I hope you guys enjoyed. If you have any more questions just write a comment and I’ll get back with you soon. Enjoy your weekend!

Up in the air

Greetings everyone from up in the air somewhere in Europe! Else, Moona and I managed to get to the airport with my two gigantic suitcases and one I had for the cabin plus their own suitcases and our smaller hand luggage. Boy was that a journey. It started raining right before we made it inside the bus. We also met a nice woman from England on the bus. I am also surprised how all my hand luggage made it clean through the security check and that I hadn't forgotten about anything. Only Moona had a full can of coke there, and she was forced to throw it out.

I felt sad at the airport also, last time at Nice Côte d'Azur for a while. But I will return soon I promise.   A bit over 2 hours more and we'll be back home. I can't wait to see our dig Oliver even if I miss Nice already. I was so busy with all last minute details today so I didn't have time to start telling you guys about our trip to Italy. Tomorrow I have a real pampering day ahmed of me at my friend's new Day Spa she just opened this year in my hometown.

Now I'm just gonna enjoy the rest of my flight. Later!

Currently Coveting - Miu Miu "Rasoir" Sunnies

I just saw these sunglasses in Harper's Bazaar last night.

OMFG. How fabulous? You can buy them here (click here) for $335, which I don't think is really that bad for such a statement piece.

I love the spin on a classic shape with the cut-off on the bottom. It's very flattering and tres chic.

Cabbage Mandarine Salad

This is a very quick and easy salad I had when I was an intern at the Us Department of State in the Middle Eastern Division. I was a Foreign Service intern and I meant a very kind lady who's husband had been assigned to Qatar. That was a wonderful experience as I actually had the chance to meet the Qatari ambassador. The salad consisted of a bag of cabbage, a can of Mandarin organs, carrots with salt and pepper to your liking. This lite salad is delicious and very healthy. Make sure you drain the orange prior to putting them in the cabbage. You can eat this with a piece of chicken breast and top it off with almonds if you like.
