Summery birthday celebration

Last week was my dear friend Mary's birthday. The evening was going to be just fabulous. We started out with a few friends at a rather popular champagne terrace in Kaivopuisto, Helsinki called Mattolaituri. The drink to enjoy there is Moët so of course one glass was a must. After a few days of rain we got really great weather too.

Next up was hopping on the ferry to NJK (Nyländska Jaktklubben) the restaurant (and yacht club) with the best view and great food in Helsinki. We sat down in our big table and were sipping some more champagne while waiting for our first course. We all got a three course menu and I must say the food was incredible. We finished our dinner with some delicious cake baked by the lovely Jasmin.

When done with dinner we headed outside to admire the view of the slowly darkening Helsinki. Like I said earlier, this place has the best view. It's like watching the island of Manhattan from a ferry or something, you can see the whole place.

As a part of the group headed home some of us still wanted to check out a new bar/club in town called Maxine, which is meant for a bit older people from late 20s and up. It's an old nightclub that is now divided into two different clubs, this being the separate one with a different entrance. I must say I quite liked it, the bartenders were nice, the space was made nice and comfy, definitely a place I recommend and wanna visit again soon.
