I really am the person who prefers buying summer clothes and shoes more than ones for winter, but if I find a perfectly fitting winter coat I get it. I just bought this Burberry winter coat I haven't used yet and now finally I decided to get it in use. You could actually manage with less outside but why buy it just so it can hang in your closet right? It has a belt so it enhances the waist and also a removable hood that also buttons up tightly if you need to. So here is my newest coat love.
Pidän todellakin enemmän kesävaatteiden-ja kenkien ostamisesta kuin talvivarusteiden, mutta kun löytää täydellisesti istuvan talvitakin se on pakko ostaa. Ostin juuri Burberryn talvitakin jota en ole vielä käyttänyt ja nyt se on sitten otettu käyttöön. Ulkona pärjäisi vähemmilläkin vaatteilla, mutta miksi ostaa ihanaa takkia vain vaatekaappiin roikkumaan? Siinä on myös vyö joka korostaa vyötäröä ja poisotettava huppu, jonka myös saa napitettua pakkaspäivinä suojaksi. Tässä siis uusin takkirakkauteni.
So Friday was the President's big Independence Day Ball but there wasn't any dancing this year (because of the different location), instead a very festive concert. The content of the concert was carefully chosen by the president and his wife, to reflect on the history of Finland. My favorite parts of the concert were listening to Stormscary's Mary sung by Maria Ylipää and the Finlandia. That is absolutely some of the greatest piece of Finnish music ever composed (by Jean Sibelius).
Perjantaina oli siis Presidentin perinteiset Linnan Juhlat, mutta tänä vuonna ei paikan vaihtumisen takia ollut tanssia vaan juhlakonsertti. Presidenttipari oli tarkoin ollut mukana valitsemassa konsertin sisältöä, jotta se parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla heijastaisivat itsenäistä suomea. Omat lempikohtani konsertista olivat Maria Ylipään esittämä Myrskyluodon Maija ja tietenkin Finlandia-hymni. Se on ehdottomasti yksi parhaiten sävellettyä suomalaista musiikkia ikinä, eikö totta?
Well on tho the dresses then. There were some gorgeous dresses and some less wonderful ones. The variation was greater this year as shorter dresses were allowed too and men were not supposed to wear a white tie. So from my point of view the party seemed less formal. Here are my favorites. Siirrytäänpä sitten itse asiaan eli pukuihin. Joukosta löytyi muutama upea ilmestys, ja epäonnistumisiakin oli havaittavissa. Vaihtelevuutta oli, sillä myös lyhyet mekot oli sallittu, ja miehiltä ei vaadittu frakkia. Joten juhla vaikutti siis vähemmän viralliselta. Tässä suosikkejani. Mitä pidäte? Oliko omia suosikkeja?
The most gorgeous couple and the most beautiful dress, chef and restaurant owner Tomi Björck and his lovely wife Minka and their first time at the party. She's a stunner and looks like straight from the red carpet in Hollywood. The dress enhances her cute baby bump as they are expecting another child. The dress is from Australia where they've been spending time and from where they came back to Finland to join the festivities and travel back there after.
Illan ehdottomasti näyttävin pari ja kaunein puku minun mielestäni, keittiömestari ja ravintoloitsija Tomi Björck ja hänen Minka-vaimonsa. Hän on kertakaikkiaan upea ja on aivan kuin suoraan Hollywoodin punaiselta matolta. Puku korostaa somaa vauvamasua, pari odottaa siis toista pienokaista. Puku on Australiasta josta he saapuivat juhliin ja palaavat sinne taas juhlien jälkeen.

This is the season for celebration. It's almost Christmas so who wouldn't like to dress up and go out and forget about the terrible weather outside. I found the cutest dress today, Peep dress by Vila. I bought it for a specific purpose. I'm not gonna tell you more about it yet, since it's a bit unsure so I don't wanna jinx it but there might be a little surprise coming up. I like the dress cause well it's black and the sequins add a nice little detail. And it matches nicely the shoes. You can find the dress at Bubbleroom here.
Tämä on juhlan aikaa. On melkein joulu ja kukapa ei haluaisi laittautua ja lähteä juhlimaan ja unohtaa kamalan sään hetkeksi. Löysin ihanan mekon tänään, Vilan Peep mekko. Ostin sen itse asiassa tiettyä tarkoitusta varten. En paljasta vielä enempää, sillä asiat ovat vielä hieman epävarmoja enkä halua huonoa onnea asian suhteen ennen kuin kaikki on selvää, mutta pieni yllätys on tulossa jos kaikki selviää. Pidän mekosta koska se on musta (aivan kuin niitä ei olisi tarpeeksi) ja paljetit ovat kiva pieni yksityiskohta. Ja se sopii aika hyvin kenkien kanssa yhteen.
